Gerald W. Timm, PhD

Founder & President

Dr. Timm has over 40 years experience in the design and development of urological devices for the diagnosis and treatment of incontinence and erectile dysfunction.








He co-founded Mentor Corporation and American Medical Systems, and founded Dacomed Corporation and Timm Medical Technologies, Inc. His work resulted in the conceptualization and subsequent development of a variety of devices for diagnosis and treating urinary control and male erectile disorders. The devices include an electronic bladder pacemaker, the inflatable penile prosthesis, the artificial urinary sphincter and malleable and positionable penile implants, among others. Dr. Timm is considered a leader in biomedical engineering and has authored or co-authored 72 scientific publications. Dr. Timm is the inventor or co-inventor of products covered by 21 U.S. patents, as well as their international counterparts. Dr. Timm received a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where he currently has a part-time faculty appointment as Professor of Urological Surgery. Jeffrey M. Shapiro

Chief Financial Officer



Mr. Shapiro has over 35 years of finance and accounting experience. Mr. Shapiro was Executive Vice President of Michael Foods and instrumental in growing Michael Foods from a small food manufacturing and distribution business to a $1.3 billion publicly held company before it went private. He consulted with a number of start-up and well-established companies for a number of years before becoming the Company's Chief Financial Officer in 2009.







Tim S. Bredahl

Director of Quality




Tim Bredahl joined GT Urological LLC in September of 2008 as the Director of Quality. Tim has over 25 years of experience in quality and manufacturing in the medical device industry. He has held management positions at both small and medium-sized companies such as Pharmacia Deltec, Urologix, Integ, and Enpath Medical. Tim received a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Marquette University and a MBA from the University of St. Thomas.








David W. Anderson, P.E.

Vice President of Research & Development




Mr. Anderson, has over 25 years of experience in the designs and development of urological devices. He has been involved in research and development, corporate strategic planning, budgeting and intellectual property management for American Medical Systems, Endocare/Timm Medical Technologies, Inc., Iotek, Inc. and Endotronics, Inc. Mr. Anderson has participated in the design and development of such products as Easy FloTM and Easy ProTM urodynamic monitoring systems, HydroflexTM and Dynaflex® penile implants and a line of laproscopic instruments. He holds 9 patents and has made numerous presentations worldwide throughout his career. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Physiology from the University of Minnesota and a Mini MBA in Medical Technology Management from the University of St. Thomas.




Steve W. Siegel, MD

Chief Medical Advisor




Dr. Siegel is Director, Center for Continence Care, Metro Urology, St. Paul, MN and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Urology, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. Among his many professional memberships, he is a Board member of the Society of Urodynamics and Female Urology, former president of the Society of Pelvic Neuromodulation, and President Elect of the North Central Section of the American Urological Association.






Bernard "BJ" Esarey

Research & Development Engineer




Mr. Esarey has a Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, Indiana. He has previously worked for Focus Surgery Inc., which works with the treatment of prostate cancer through high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). There he was listed as a co-inventor on a company patent.
