GT Urological, LLC is a privately held medical device company focused on developing, manufacturing, marketing and distributing medical device products for the urinary incontinence market.

We estimate that over 13 million Americans currently spend more than $2 billion a year on products to treat and manage urinary incontinence. This market is expected to grow as life expectancy and the overall population increases.

The Company is developing surgically implantable devices intended to restore urinary control to both male and female sufferers of long-term stress urinary incontinence. GT Urological's goal is to improve on existing implantable technologies for urinary incontinence by developing devices which:

  • Decrease the incidence of urethral injury and infection
  • Reduce surgical cost by greatly simplifying pre-operative and operative procedures
  • Provide the user 'on demand' control of urinary voiding functions
  • Improve mechanical reliability

The National Institutes of Health has awarded GT Urological five Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants totaling $2.2 million based upon its innovative product research. The company has several issued patents covering the technology and several more patents pending.

Our initial product is the unique, patent pending and FDA registered product, the ActiCuf Compression Pouch. The ActiCuf product combines the best features of two industry-leading male incontinence products- the penile clamp and the absorbent pad. This product was first offered to the public in 2006 with widespread sales efforts starting in mid -2007. GT Urological plans to continue to grow this business in both international and domestic markets while it finishes its development work on the surgically implantable treatments.

Message from the President & Founder...

Urinary incontinence affects more than thirteen million Americans. These vigorous, confident and successful individuals have been challenged and sometimes frustrated by the nature of this condition. As a urological engineer for forty years, I have spoken with countless patients with urinary incontinence about their longing for the active lifestyle that they once embraced. They told me that protection and security without needing to wear embarrassing diapers or pads was important. That is why we developed the ActiCuf™ Compression Pouch and why we are continuing the development of more permanent, implantable device solutions to this problem. At GT Urological, we are striving to provide technologies which will allow patients to return to an active lifestyle and provide them freedom everyday.
